The musicians in Willy and the Po' Boys have been tantalizing Provincetown music afficionados for years even before their first gig. Consisting of friends who regularly jammed together and had also played together in various musical ventures over the years, the Po' Boys primarily play original rock tunes, mostly conceived by band leader Joe Bones, many while on the bandstand. It is not unusual to hear a song played once, to never reappear again. Their performances are dotted with these "you had to be there" moments.
Willy and the Po' Boys are:
Joe "Bones" Basine, Provincetown music mainstay and Florida Keys running buddy of Jimmy Buffett, guitar and vocals,
Billy Evaul, accomplished artist and "the world's most fearless bass player," bass, b/u vocals,
Peter Tighe, a bandleader and guitarist in his own band "Coelecanth", on drums, b/u vocals,
Steve Morgan, guitar, b/u vocals,
Sebastian Junger, noted author of "The Perfect Storm" on harmonica.
